What is a Podcast?

Podcasting is a form of audio broadcasting on the internet. The reason it became linked with the iPod in name was because people download podcasts (audio shows) to listen to on their iPods. However you don't have to listen to podcasts only on iPods; you can use your computer with some music software such as Windows built-in Media Player or my favorite player. It really doesn't matter, as long as you have some way to play the music on your computer you will be able to listen to podcasts.

What Do I Need?

First and foremost, to subscribe to a Podcast you will need ITunes installed on your computer. Podcast is an MP3 file and all you need to play it is an MP3 player. With the help of software such as ITunes or QuickTime or Windows Media Player - You are already able to listen to a Podcast. You only need an iPod or other Mobile MP3 Player if you want to listen to a Podcast on the go.

What is a RSS Feed?

RSS Feeds contain frequently updated content published by a website. This particular feed is used to deliver audio content (In MP3 format) which you can listen to on your computer or MP3 player. This is provided for users who do not wish to download ITunes.

Viewing RSS Feeds is different for every internet browser. Please review your browsers help section for details on this.
